How to play Visual Memory

Take a moment with Visual Memory before moving to another game. Select every square that was shown. Selecting an unshown square ends the session. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Treat the first round as a chance to learn the controls. Use the example below to understand a decision.

A useful comparison

Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Select every square that was shown. Selecting an unshown square ends the session. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Return to the instructions when a step is unclear.

Step by step

  1. Start a round and watch the highlighted cells.
  2. Wait until the board hides the pattern.
  3. Select the positions you remember; order does not matter.
  4. Complete the pattern to advance.

Controls

Use the on-screen controls with a mouse or touch. Use the control method described here for this activity. Avoid pressing the same control repeatedly while a move is being processed.

A useful example

If the four corner squares were shown, select those four corners in any order. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Look for the relevant detail.

Watch out for this

Unlike Sequence Memory, this game does not require the original order. Check the rule before repeating the action. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
