How to play Dominoes
Start Dominoes by looking at the playing area and its controls. Empty your hand, or hold fewer pips when both players are blocked. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Treat the first round as a chance to learn the controls. Use the example below to understand a decision.
Double-six draw dominoes, local two players with shared-screen visible hands.
Make the controls familiar
Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart. Refer to the controls when needed.
Your goal
Empty your hand, or hold fewer pips when both players are blocked. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Try to explain the aim in your own words.
Step by step
- Play a tile matching either open chain end.
- Choose which end to use.
- Draw only when no tile fits.
- Pass only with no legal tile and an empty stock.
Controls
Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Read the example below alongside these instructions.
A useful example
An open 4 accepts 4–2, leaving 2 open. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Verify the rule before continuing.
Watch out for this
You cannot ignore a legal match to draw. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again.
