How to play Pyramid Solitaire

Choose a round of Pyramid Solitaire and settle into its rules. Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Keep the instructions close while learning this activity. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Pyramid, stock and waste; one stock recycle. Free solo play, no wagering.

Make the controls familiar

Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Remove all 28 pyramid cards. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Check the rules when you are unsure.

Step by step

  1. Only uncovered cards are selectable. Pairs total 13; a king removes alone.
  2. Click an exposed card or eligible pair to remove it.
  3. Draw when useful.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Controls

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Use one clear input at a time.

A useful example

An exposed queen pairs with an ace; a jack pairs with a 2. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Verify the rule before continuing.

Watch out for this

Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
